My Reflection of the Lecture by Chen-Ching Li

My Reflection of the Lecture by Chen-Ching Li
It's precious to have a profitable lecture arranged by school. Today, a retired professor in Department of English, Shih Hsin University Chen-Ching Li paid his promised visit to deliver a speech to teachers and students in NTCB. The topic is Bracing for the Professional Challenges of English in the Global Context. Leading a life in the highly globalized generation, with more and more intercommunication across the world, I am convinced that having a good command of languages has been a pivotal mission for us. If we have insufficient language skills, lagging way behind others would be inevitable in this highly competitive world.
Coming to the glorious auditorium, you must be an appreciative audience, and then gain a wonderful opportunity of contacting a linguistic specialist personally; abandon yourselves into acquiring pieces of advice of which are profitable forever. We have heard a lot about making every endeavor to study, being inquisitive, curious in learning. But, we cannot learn indiscriminately. We should pick up language on purpose. What kind of skills do we really need? As we are freshmen of youth, of vigor, and full of wisdom, spectacular generation is waiting for our own creation. Well runs a proverb, €o gains without pains.€?We must spare no efforts to study on the way to prominent achievements. The enlargement of networking, great mastery of English (or other languages), and time management are the top three courses for everyone, said professor. The more internationalized the world, the more stubborn the challenges we meet. Our lovely country, Taiwan has turned her appearance into a globalized country; various walks of life put more and more emphasis on the skills of foreign language. To survive in the competitive society, we should make good use of resources to improve our competitiveness, or we will become loser by indulgence in petty matters. Where there€ a will, there€ a way. Even though we are not living in an English environment for learning the language, it is not a big deal at all. We should make the most of these resources availiable such as Internet, newspaper, or film. With a lot of patience and perseverance, you can create a pleasant atmosphere to build up a powerful English skill. So, what are you waiting for? Let€ set up a journey for a remarkable future! If you have great ambitions and fortitude fighting for your future, something fruitful will come.
