  參訪心得-奇力速工業公司

●奇力速企業參訪


態度決定一切 細節決定成果

在學期剛開始的時候,任課「商用英語會話」的趙懷梓老師,就宣布要帶領同學去參訪企業。一聽到這個好消息,我心中就充滿著期待與喜悅。雖然在電視上有看過介紹成功企業的節目,也聽過企業家的經驗分享,但我從來都沒有參訪企業的經驗。古人說:「讀萬卷書,不如行萬里路」因此,在5月9日這一天,我們就浩浩蕩蕩的出發了。
位於新北市新莊區的「奇力速工業股份有限公司」成立於1984年,專門生產電動起子。除了在台灣、上海成立總公司外,也在韓國、日本、新加坡、泰國設立分公司,將產品銷售市場拓展至全世界。初步的了解奇力速公司之後,廠長就帶領我們實際到各樓層參觀。

首先「成品倉」是一個負責包裝與分類存放成品的部門。倉庫裡的貨物都依序分類,擺放在井然有序的架子上。尚未完成包裝的產品,則是疊放在地上。但是,最吸引我目光的,是放在紙箱上面的立牌,寫著「待處理」的字樣。廠長解釋:「當員工工作到一半去休息,或是由其他人接手工作時,立牌能夠幫助下一位員工,馬上知道要從哪個箱子繼續進行包裝,不僅能夠避免錯誤,也能增加工作效率。」

另外,當我實際了解生產線員工一天的工作內容時,我打從心底敬佩他們。原來,重複相同的動作持續好幾小時,對他們而言,早已是家常便飯的事。不僅如此,他們還要能夠精準、高效率的完成每個動作。在出貨之前,還需要經過「品管部」的檢驗,作最後的確認,才能將產品運送到客戶手中。

然而一家成功的企業,光有優良的產品是不夠的。因此廠長最後帶領我們參觀「國貿部」與「客服部」。國貿部門需要常常接待外國客戶,因此他們的服裝和其他的員工不同,穿著更體面的套裝。在介紹客服部的時候,廠長特別提到:「這是全公司最快樂的部門。」廠長這番話,令同學們一頭霧水,心中充滿問號。大家總覺得每天接起電話,就聽到顧客遇到的問題與抱怨,再怎麼說,都稱不上是一件快樂的事。但是這個部門所有的員工,臉上確實堆滿笑容。員工解釋:「如果我們自己不能先找到快樂,就無法將快樂感染給我們的客戶。」在這個部門工作的員工,需具備高度的情緒智商(EQ)。

在參訪完奇力速公司以後,讓我對「工廠」這兩個字的認知從此改觀。過去我對工廠的印象,就是員工所處的工作環境,是一個充滿機器運轉聲的吵雜地方。裡頭的空氣悶熱,燈光灰暗。但是來到奇力速公司後,真是讓我大開眼界。廠內清掃得一塵不染,各個角落隨處可見激勵員工的標語,其中我最喜歡的一張是:「態度決定一切,細節決定成果。」為了讓員工能夠更快速的找到所需的工具與零件,每一項物品都有專屬的置物架。為了避免擺在地上的物品太過凌亂,他們在地板貼上有色膠帶,規劃出走道的空間。更特別的是,在各部門的門口,都掛著一塊「零失誤天數」的牌子。當該部門員工,工作上沒有出任何差錯的天數,累積到一定程度時,公司就會給予獎勵。也會為每個月設定目標,並定期評估達標成果,在下個月能夠有所改進。這一切都能激勵員工工作更有動力。在觀察到這些細節後,我想這就是奇力速公司經營成功的地方。

企業參訪是一項很不一樣的體驗,透過這樣的活動讓我有很大的收穫,得以印證課堂所學。未來期望學校能夠安排更多性質不同的企業,讓我們有更多增廣見聞的機會。

Electric Screwdrivers Industry You Don't Know

The corporation we went to visit is named as KILEWS. KILEWS is both a company and a factory for electric screwdrivers, which means KILEWS manufactures and markets the products by itself. All of us were really looking forward to this trip, because it’s not that common for students to learn our lessons from actual operations, not to mention to spend half a day in a factory.

Entered the factory, barely no one could hide the curiosity to the factory from our faces. Whenever we passed by a different station, we showed a big question mark above our heads, gave out exploring look, and whispered in excitement. It’s obvious that the employees must have been notified not to get distracted by our sudden visit since most of them didn’t pay any attention to our presents.

Something in the factory soon got everyone’s attention—it was the day-counting board placed on the entrance of every section, which stated for “No misses for XXX days”. The manager told us that is the small tip they use for supervising quality. A department will be awarded when the “No misses for XXX days” reaches a certain standard. On the contrary, a department will get their “Price” if they can’t figure a way to break out. We did a small calculation while visiting, the department which maintain for the longest time would be Quality Control Department, and the worst performance should be Warehouse-Management.

Despite the day-counting board, slogans for encouragement like “Other pays for one’s mistakes. Implementing comprehension quality saves trouble.”, “Attitude is everything. Details determine everything. ” etc... The slogans inspired an attitude of responsibility not only for ONE employee, but for EVERY ONE of them. And I found the attitude quite generous and genius. It’s a possible motive for the company to grow and to succeed together, so that everyone would work with a selfishless attitude for their own good. On the other hand, we’re all impressed by how KILEWS manage quality control and how a small company it seemed to be, however, turned out it is an international company. KILEWS has been expanding its international markets since 1988, now its distributors have been established worldwide, like in China, Japan, Korea, USA, Vietnam, Germany, and etc...

How does KILEWS reach such an accomplished success? Let’s not talk about their comprehension quality control, which we’ve already knew how well they’re doing. By the time for QUESTION & ANSWER we gathered in the staff canteen. Before visiting the factory, some of our classmates were appointed as oral interpreters. They had to interpret English into Chinese or Chinese into English for both parties during meeting. The interesting part was that majority of participants were able to understand the whole conversation, so it ended up everyone staring at those students with enthusiasm and in anticipation. Especially Lynn, she did an amazing job. In addition to this, one of the KILEWS’s supervisors—Jimmy, was graduated from our school, and apparently he was very pleased to see us visiting, moreover sensed our outstanding ability in English. Jimmy generously talked about his experiences of what attitude we should bring with us when we started working, he mentioned that we should never quit, never feel satisfactory, and always remember to enjoy our job! Sometimes how talented a person is or how splendid his previous experiences had been were not points. What really lasts forever would be the heart that never limits. And so we must always look up and keep faith.

If some words are needed to describe KILEWS, I would prefer “Innovation, rigorous, passion, and energetic”. KILEWS isn’t like the kind of company we’ve heard in society, all employees are willing to give out their hands for those who are in need. Also they exchange ideas or opinions a lot during workshops. Besides their hospitality, they own both strict and energetic attitudes to their work. It was a really meaningful trip; I believe all of us had learned something from KILEWS. And at last I’d like to thank our teacher Mr. Zhao for giving us a day as interns in a real factory, and also thank KILEWS for providing us an opportunity to visit their company. We hope these kinds of activity would be kept continually so that our junior brothers and sisters would have the same chance to verify their knowledge in actual practice.
